Following other government bodies across the globe including India, Taiwan and almost 20 US States, the European Commission on Thursday moved to ban TikTok’s use on their corporate and BYOD mobile devices. The risk of security was cited as the reason for the app’s ban.
“This measure aims to protect the commission against cybersecurity threats and actions which may be exploited for cyber-attacks against the corporate environment of the Commission,” they said in a statement.
