Researchers at Trellix discovered a new Privilege Escalation bug which if exploited, could give an attacker access to a user’s messages, location data, call history and photos. They stated the vulnerabilities “represent a significant breach of the security model of macOS and iOS”.
Apple has grouped the high severity vulnerabilities under CVE-2023-23530 and CVE-2023-23531. They are affecting iPhones, iPads and Mac computers. The exploits do not appear to already be in use in the wild.
