Capita is the largest outsourcing company in the UK and provides nuclear submarine training for the Royal Navy’s nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines. The company confirmed on Monday that a ‘cyber incident’ locked out staff from their accounts last Friday.
Not all of Capita’s 61 000 employees were affected and exact details on the segments of their business attacked were not disclosed in the statement.
“Immediate steps were taken to successfully isolate and contain the issue,” which was “limited to parts of the Capita network.”, they said.
