The Canadian Government has finally joined the US and EU by banning TikTok on federal employee devices. “As of February 28, the TikTok app will be automatically removed and blocked from use on all government-issued mobile devices,” senior department officials said.
“On a mobile device, TikTok’s data collection methods provide considerable access to the contents of the phone,” President of the Treasury Board Mona Fortier said.
The Privacy Commissioner of Canada also announced last week it was launching a probe into the app’s privacy concerns.
